There is an increasing realisation that family and health are now more important that business. The dream of passing on a family business to son/daughter has in effect long gone. It is recognised that apart from a few exceptions, it is no good for the family nor the business. The best for all concenred is a trade sale.

Anecdotal research to date has indicated that an exit route (sometimes at any cost) from the business is fast becoming more important. The increasing red tape, high taxes and high costs is sapping the energy of seasons business owners who are just tired of the business. To date their exit route has been to run down the business and like with the losses. The resultant negativity to being in business / self-employment is very engrained and spreads through family and friends.
